Overall pretty good deal... May 04, 2011
By Sarita G. Noel
"Sakmeht"
I wanted barcode scanner for two reasons: 1) Scan in my personal media, like books, DVD's, retail software, CD's, BluRay's, etc. 2) Scan serial number from Dell computer and other computer manufactures.
It did both of those things very well, I tried several of my books (both UPS and EAN codes). Didn't seem to matter if it was glossy paper or matte type finish. I even just went around the house and grabbed anything with a barcode to see if would scan and it did.
I had a couple of Dell computers, so I scanned every barcode they had on the PC case just fine. Even was able to scan the Windows XP/Vista stickers.
The only thing I found it just wouldn't scan was my phone. I have an Android (Samsung Galaxy S Fascinate, Verizon, with OLED display) phone and use "keyring" app so it will store all of my member cards like Gold Gym, AutoZone, etc. This scanner would not read the barcode from the screen on the phone, but it could read the physical cards just fine. I didn't really buy it for that, so I didn't take a star away for that, but figured someone else would want to know that.

Perfect Jul 10, 2011
By Justin This scanner worked perfectly on my Win7 machine - no drivers needed. Plugged in and it was ready a minute later. I didnt even have to crack open the manual.
Used it to scan my book, movie, and music CD collections - read everything no problem. Once I figured out where the proper bar codes were (some books sometimes had 2), scanning was fast.
The only issue I had was I had a natural tendency to scan at a 90deg angle instead of 60deg or so - it wouldnt read.

Don't worry about the manual - it's not needed. Feb 15, 2012
By Pat Bartoshesky The manual for this scanner is scary, lots of choices of settings to handle, but in fact the scanner was completely plug-n-play and works excellently.

WOW!!! Dec 15, 2011
By kyle Bought this product a little hesistent. Price seemed too good to be true. I was wrong! This scanner beat my expectations. Its plug and go, came early and scans perfect everytime, also scans from like 1 foot away. Manual is useful. Only con is that it feels cheaply made but scans like $200 scanner! would recommend to a friend!!
