Not very good at all. Sep 12, 2010
By Jerry Saperstein My 7 year old grandson has developed an interest in model making, which I am more than happy to indulge.
We're still at the snap-together model stage and hopefully he will learn the art of patience, which is indispensable to model making.
Snap-together models should serve as an introduction to young model makers and make it possible for them to learn how to fit the pieces together and turn out a reasonably credible model.
Revell, of course, is an old name in model making and highly respected. I built dozens of Revell model way back when and they were almost all beautifully designed, fit together well and finished beautifully.
That adds to my frustration over the abysmally poor quality of this Snap-Tite model. The parts do not "snap-tite". Open seams between pieces are like chasms. Some of the parts, like the cover on the trailer of the M-3 half-track don't fit well and fall off at the slightest touch.
I obviously don't expect "perfection" in these introductory models, but I do expect substantially higher quality than Revell has put it into this one.

did not like this item Dec 13, 2009

This toy is not worth the money. It is cheaply made and takes a long time to snap together. I would not recommend this item.

Vintage Set originally sold under the Monogram name... Jul 29, 2011
By Le Harquebusier I recall building two of the models in this set (sold individually) back in the early eighties when snap together model kits were innovative at the time. I had the Huey chopper, the halftrack and an MB Army jeep. Being styrene plastic they can be brittle, have loose fitting parts or they can snap off altogether but that can be considered part of the charm. An application of model cement can easily remedy the situation (kind of defeats the purpose I know). Kids these days do not have the patience of children of past generations, instead preferring endless video game playing over any type of craft so I suspect anything that requires finesse, dexterity and patience such as model building would seem hopelessly quaint in this day and age. The chopper and halftrack still exist in a box somewhere being over the years continually repaired, repainted and finally pressed into duty as vehicles for the ubiquitous green plastic army men. I cannot give them a poor rating because I understand what they are: model kits for beginners.
