Great Game and Awesome Bundle! Nov 02, 2010
By Stephen
"Stephen"
So, I went to GameStop today to pick up the bundle and I absolutely love it. To start, let me clarify what is in this bundle since there seems to be a bit of confusion and misleading marketing:
1 - A PSP 3000 as pictured. To note, the red is like a very bright candy red and though the buttons look almost solid red in the pictures, they're actually clear plastic with red bottoms (which I personally think makes them look even more awesome in-person). The 'L' and 'R' buttons on top actually are a translucent red plastic, though.
2 - God of War: Ghost of Sparta on a UMD. Unfortunately, it comes in a cardboard sleeve instead of a full-sized plastic case like what's pictured on the box. A bit misleading and also a disappointment for people like me who like to have the case.
3 - God of War: Chains of Olympus is offered as a free download from the PlayStation Network.
4 - God of War III Deimos skin download voucher via the PlayStation Network for your PS3.
5 - Kick-Ass comes on a UMD and not as a download. As with God of War: Ghost of Sparta, Kick-Ass comes in a cardboard sleeve.
6 - 2GB memory stick.
7 - Power cord (of course).
I traded in my older PSP 3000 at GameStop (for $80) which made this bundle available for ~$130 with all said and done (taxes, etc.). I'm very happy that I made that decision, too. This PSP unit is absolutely beautiful and everyone in my office who has a PSP (and even a couple who don't) seems envious (I work in a technical support environment, so there are plenty of people around me who know what this thing is). As for the game itself, I'm not too far into it yet but I really love it thus far. It has the same feel and characteristics as the previous God of War PSP game -- perhaps even to a fault since I almost feel like I've simply picked up where I left off with the previous game. The story is great so far, though, and the graphics and sound are excellent. With that said, there is one situation I've already run across where the graphics got a little sluggish, so that has me only slightly concerned for upcoming game scenarios/scenes.
I will update this review once I complete the game, but I just wanted to go ahead and clarify about the bundle since I purchased it today and this is the sales page for the bundle and not just the game. =) More later!
***UPDATE*** - I'm about halfway through the game (maybe a little more), so I went ahead and wrote a fairly extensive review on it based on my experience so far (long story short, I love the game and it's friggin' awesome -- the end). I reviewed it under just the game, though, so if you're interested in checking it out, it's here: God of War: Ghost of Sparta

The perfect entertainment system batch Nov 06, 2010
By theWanderingANBU God of War has been a focal point in the Sony Exclusive list of games for years. It has been the big blockbuster (aside from Uncharted starting to step in and Killzone) this is looking to be a fantastic conclusion to an epic series. Granted, many have argued that God of War lacks story development, especially in the character department. However, this is shaping up to be a good look into the pathos and psychology of Kratos, our favorite angry Spartan.
Before I get into the game, let me start off by saying the PSP that comes in the bundle looks fantastic. The red is beautifully put on it, not looking too blinding nor too pastel. It is the perfect red, the stripes on Kratos, and the blood that runs rampant in his violent legacy. The LCD and high resolution screen look great. Overall, it is a cool limited edition PSP that stands out on the uniqueness of its color scheme. Black representing wrath and anger, blood for the vengeance Kratos must pass.
Now, one drawback to this bundle is that Kick-Ass and Ghost of Sparta do not come in a case, rather a risky cardboard cover. So don't expect to open it up to the brilliant artwork of the cover art. Nonetheless, that should not deter you from enjoying it. You still get the topnotch game Ready at Dawn has developed for the player. You can dive right in.
Kick Ass looks gorgeous on the screen. The resolution is quite impressive for such a small portable system. It feels hi-def, and you'll enjoy sitting there. Plug in headphones though, as you won't hear much of the movie even with the volume up at max. This is good and bad. Still, it is fun to have a movie that stands on its own unique merit.
Another sad thing is that it is a 2GB Memory Card. I know, 4 GB is double the size, yet it would be nice to have had. Overall, it has 1971 KB, which is substantial for getting Chain of Olympus. Apparently Chain of Olympus is 1.11 GB, so be ready to see a lot of that free space go away. However, you're getting the PSP's argued second-best game out in the market. So it's a pretty worthy investment.
Ghost of Sparta handles well and gives the player a great game. Overall, I'd have to rate God of War a 9/10 for this adventure. I wish the campaign was longer, but it's a portable system, so for how long it is, I am happy with it.
Overall, you are getting a steal here. 2 brilliant games with a PSP and a good movie. Enjoy my friends, enjoy. This package is a 10/10.

Loves It. Nov 14, 2010
By Sam I bought this pack for my boyfriend after his old (name, really old) PSP 1000 finally died forever. He loves it. It is lighter than other PSPs I've seen, and the display is very clear with nice colors, much better quality than the version he had. The colors of the system itself (bright red and black) set it apart from the others and make it a little more fun to own. I would have bought a PSP regardless, but the bundle just made it better, as the GoW storyline is a favorite, even for me. I too was disappointed that the game and the movie did not come in legitimate plastic cases, but I can overlook that for the quality of the product. A million stars to you, Sony/Playstation and Amazon!

Best PSP bundle ever. Nov 18, 2010

I've actually owned a couple different PSP systems over the years, but this bundle is the best, IMO. One downfall is no case for the UMD's, but I believe that's been the case with all of these types of PSP bundles. I bought the J&D bundle a couple of years ago and the same thing applied.
Getting both God of War PSP games with this bundle is awesome and the PSP itself is probably the coolest I've seen of any. The black and red combo, coupled with the red buttons and writing make it look slick. You also get the movie Kick-ass, which fits this bundle well, plus a 2GB memory stick. I know some bundles only come with a 1GB stick and some don't come with one at all.
Overall, if you are in the market for a PSP you can get a plane jane one for 169 bucks with nothing extra. Or spend 30 more dollars to get 2 of the top PSP games, a great movie and 2 GB memory stick, which you are going to need to have anyway. Great bundle!

I kick myself for missing the first God of War Bundle, but this one SO makes up for it!! The reviewer, "Steve-O," said everything exactly right and through to boot. I refer you to his review for more technical issues. Yay Kratos!!
