I LOVE STELLA. My twin baby 9-month olds are getting used to her Oct 04, 2009
By Citizen John I know I'm supposed to tell how much my children love this toy. The fact is I love Baby Stella. It's the first doll I've bought for my baby 9-month old twins, and they're still a little skeptical. Stella is about a foot tall (Product Description says 15 inches but mine is 12). My babies haven't seen anything like this before, and she looks like them in a way.
They hold Stella as if they love her and then they throw her. They also like to pull Stella's pacifier off. That's fun for them. This pacifier is way too big for my babies' mouths so it's not dangerous at this stage. You can loop your finger or thumb through the handle of the pacifier. The pacifier has a magnet and locks on pretty tightly to Stella's mouth. My babies are not at the stage where they try to put the pacifier back on.
Stella's belly and feet feel as if she has little round crunchy things inside like barley or buckwheat. All the rest of her (head, arms and legs) are made of thick foam inside. She has seven tiny strips coming out of the top of her head - her hair. They like to put any part of her in their mouths and we wonder if they're kissing Stella. They haven't discovered that they can take her clothes, including her diaper off. Those are held by velcro in some places, but in a way that seems seamless. I think it will be awhile before they find that out.
My guess is they'll love this doll as much as I do. And I've never loved a doll either. It's just such a joy to buy your girl's first doll. Others have said I should get two. I hadn't thought of that earlier for some reason. If you see me with another review and that Amazon Verified Purchase logo, you'll know what happened.

We Love Stella! May 22, 2009
By K. Piper-Fangman My daughter is now one and just starting to really get into dolls. we bought Stella when she was 8 months old, and she really didn't pay much attention to her. Now she Loves stella, she'll hug her and take her in and out of her dolly stroller. I havent given her the pacifier yet because I don't want to lose it.
We like stella so much that we bought one for my cousins little girl, along with the stella backpack. Stella is soft, and snuggly, and I love her little tuft of hair! Most of all, Stella is not creepy looking, as many dolls are, and I love her velvety soft skin.

Best Doll Ever Oct 29, 2009
By New Mommy I bought Baby Stella for my daughter when she was 20 months old. She is now 3 & 1/2 years old. She has played with Stella almost everyday since she got her. Stella is a member of our family! ha! I highly recommend this doll...soft & good quality. Your little girl will love her too!

Best first doll for a little girl Aug 20, 2010
By TNMomTeacher After searching for the perfect first doll, I bought Stella for my daughter's first Christmas present when she was only 2 months old. I wanted a cloth doll with arms and legs and removable clothing so it would grow with her. A few months later, she started playing with Stella and eventually started dragging her around by her soft little arms. That was nearly 4 years ago. My little girl has since received Bitty Baby Twins, 3 Baby Alive dolls, and a couple Cabbage Patch Kids, all of which she plays with. But her favorite is Stella, who goes everywhere with us and even arrives daily at preschool in my daugher's quilted backpack! She is so well made and perfect for a little girl with no plastic parts. Her plump little body is filled with some type of beans or something and is slightly weighted so she can sit. Her arms, legs, and head are filled with durable foam that allow for some movement. We often lay Stella's arms at her side and swaddle her in my daughter's knit receiving blanket as she requests. I will cherish Baby Stella long after my little one outgrows her for the memories of her early years!

Baby Stella Doll Aug 16, 2009

"Grammy with a camera"
I got this for my One year old granddaughter. I searched everywhere for a doll that didn't have plastic parts and would be cuddly for a baby girl. This doll is just what I was looking for and our little girl loved it right away.
