Great for HD video (with proper configuration) Jan 11, 2011
By Ben Kennedy I purchased the Lenovo for use as a Media PC to view HD video on my HDTV, and it has performed that role perfectly. Other reviewers have noted stuttering when trying to play HD video using this device, but that is a software and not a hardware limitation. You have to download and configure a media player that is capable of hardware acceleration in order to play HD video. That's the entire reason for the NVidia ION architecture; the puny ATOM processor can't handle HD on its own. I also had to resize the desktop as my HDTV decided it wanted to crop some of it off. In order to play HD video I had to do the following things:
1. Increase the font size in the screen resolution menu so I can actually read text from my couch. 2. Download (and install) the latest versions of NVidia drivers and Microsoft DirectX from the respective NVidia and Microsoft websites. 3. Resize my desktop using options in the NVidia Control Panel. 4. Download a media player capable of using hardware acceleration. I use XMBC (it's free and awesome). 5. Enable hardware acceleration in the media player configuration options.
Following these steps allowed me to enjoy beautiful HD video from the comfort of my couch. Next I play on buying an external USB Blu Ray Player to further enhance my viewing experience. The only issue I have with the device is it's a little slow to boot up and to initiate intensive programs, but at the price point, and given the hardware specs, that is to be expected.

Like it, but... Dec 19, 2010
By yichiyichi I'm using it to watch videos online, and it can do most of the work well. The design is good, too. I even used it to play 3D online games, and it actually worked.
I'm just expecting it having the built-in wifi. I think it's the biggest drawback.

great potential but failed to deliver Nov 22, 2010
By Ludwig Defrenne I bought this device to stream online content on my LED TV (netflix, hulu, amazon on demand...).
The device itself is great... the fan doesn't make that much noise, I couldn't actually hear it when the TV was on.
The keyboard is GREAT. I might actually buy it separately.
now to the performance.... CPU and RAM were never an issue but I was never able to play shows from hulu or amazon on demand full screen on my TV... either the sound or the video would get choppy.
I upgraded the OS and video drivers (even tried the beta versions) as well as flash (to beta too) but with no luck... I sadly had to return it and bough a mac mini instead... more money but at least it worked great out of the box.

More specs would be nice! Dec 21, 2010
By Ohioan Patriot I was a little confused when I opened the box, since there was a review here talking about how great the keyboard was? I just got it today and have not set it up yet, hence the 3 stars (middle ground - I expect to be well pleased when I can get everything together), but here are some immediate thoughts:
WOW this thing is small! I think I had a CD player in high school that was bigger than this.
No mouse or keyboard. Not a big deal, just feel a little mislead.
No VGA output! I somewhat-recently purchased a net-top style ACER that had HDMI and VGA outputs - I had not considered that it may not have VGA output - the only video out is HDMI - which means I have just accidentally forced myself to replace a perfectly serviceable monitor or risk wasting time/money on some 'iffy' conversion gadgets.
Of course there are no PS/2 keyboard and mouse connectors. I had expected that - wanted to throw it out there, just in case. There are plenty of USB ports for 'stuff'.
Piece of junk Jan 29, 2012
By M. Westman I bought this computer and used it for about a year until the hard drive failed. Keep looking and maybe you can find something that isn't disposable.
