Just point and click. Instant read temperature. Works on pots, pans, liquids, toaster ovens, great for determining the temperature of any surface.

I bought this for soapmaking and it works like a champ.
I didn't think it would be all that accurate but it gets within a few degrees.
Good enough for soap.

I purchased this Infrared IR Digital Non-Contact Thermometer for cold process soap making and found this thermometer works more than adequately for cold process soap making. I am completely satisfied with this thermometer for cold process soap making.

Guaranteed to be used on weekends; I make sure the pan is above 200F and below 300F before I put in my eggs.
It tends to get used at least once a week for something else, too; outside of cooking, you can find out if a vent is blowing cold or hot air.
I've also used this to check electronic components in a loudspeaker crossover.
Got one for my Mom on Mother's Day; she didn't know what to do with it until I talked to her; she just lit up when I told her what I do with mine.

Solid product and arrived faster than promised. There is a significant difference between the internal thermometer and the IR but that might just be how we are using it. Overall we use it as a quick check to get in the ball park so that we don't have to keep poking things.
