Good try Aug 28, 2011
By Brian This toy was a lot of fun and both my son and daughter played with it all day. My son got it as a birthday gift. It was great to see them both playing together. I think it's great that all the hot wheels tracks can be inter connected and I like that I don't have to drill holes in the wall to get these to stay on the wall. The instructions are great at showing you how to set it up on the wall.
The first problem I've had is that the loop on the track doesn't work right and the cars get stuck there often. Although the kids do not seem to mind this I find it frustrating. The other issue we have had is that kids don't just let the cars roll down the track all the time; sometimes they like to push them. Twice in as many days we have had the command adhesive come off the wall and pull a coat of paint with them. The one extra command adhesive helped the first time the track let go; I suggest buying some extras with the track if you get one.

Very Surprised Aug 13, 2011

This must be a super new product to not have any reviews. We just purchased this today and it was very easy (thanks to the included template) to install. I love the fact that the system uses the 3M strips to attach to the wall. I initially told my 3 1/2 year old "no, our daddy doesn't want holes in the walls", but then saw the 3M strips on the front of the box! Awesome. There are different ways to manipulate the track as to the car's final destination. Also, the fact, that you can add on systems to make it bigger is a win-win. My 3 1/2 year old and 7year old are currently having a great time "playing together"!

Alright but not stellar Oct 03, 2011

From the photos they have of the product, I expected it to be a little bigger than it was. As it stands (or hangs as the case may be), it fit on my fridge door. Of course, I never paid much attention to the curvature of the fridge door, so I had to add an extension to the first top left piece to get it around the ice dispenser... But it worked, and stuck very well due to the nice surface.
The template is easy to follow, and the anchor points are labeled A through F and even have little arrows that act as your angle meter, to make sure it's hanging at the proper angle.
Track pieces snap into place pretty securely, and I've had no problems with anything loose or inoperative. Some reviewers mentioned the loop mechanism didn't work well for them, but we've had no problems with it. Just make sure there's no pressure on any side, since the first time I had it hung, it pressed a bit against that curvature of my fridge, nothing really noticeable, but enough to hamper operation until I adjusted one of the anchor points.
The car went through the track just fine, not hanging up anywhere.
As with most hot wheel toys, it's pretty cool at first, and the concept is very slick - no tracks to "pick up" or things the kid leaves laying on the floor. But the replay value isn't so great since it's just the same thing over and over and over. My son extended his excitement by adding more things to crash into, but after about half an hour, it just sat on the fridge, something for me to watch out for so I wouldn't let the door open itself all the way to its stops... He went back to it once the second day, but then took the car and had more fun driving it over the furniture, jumping over the great chasms between the couch and rocking chair, and driving it on the counters. The track has been dormant since.
I can see some more excitement as you add to it, since this is just the starter set, the "center" of what you can get separately, but by the time you purchase enough of the other pieces to extend it to decent playability, you could've purchased something more significant with a longer play time for the kid. And the other pieces will just be more of the same as well after the first little while of seeing how it all looks.
And the orange top piece isn't even a part it rolls down - that's basically the holding pen for cars, they start at the first blue piece right before the top right turn. So all in all this has two turn pieces, and a loop.
So the concept and execution are very well done, but they really need to expand the basic set some to add some value to it.

FUN WITH SOME MAINTENANCE-ISSUES WITH ADD-ON TRACKS Oct 07, 2011
By diane Sent to my daughter for the grand kids, i posted the picture she put on her FaceBook page, to see the picture added click "View and Share Related Images" under the listed item image. Picture shows numbers 1 and 2, an arrow, and a yellow circle on the photo. The comment by (1) refers to the "Hot wheels Wall Tracks Starter Set". the note reads "I followed the instructions 8 videos long only to find the rules were different when you want to attach other tracks. I guess it was designed for COMMAND STRIPS to profit quite well from this phooey baloney. In order for those tracks to connect, the first tracks template should have been set higher...WTH" and the (2) indicates the Hot Wheels Wall Tracks Drift Rally Spinout Track Set and the yellow circle indicates the part and reads "Fell off after 5 minutes" the arrow points to where the add-on wall track: Hot Wheels Wall Tracks Drift Rally Spinout Track Set was supposed to attach to the "Hot Wheels Wall Tracks Starter Set" which had been mounted by instructions included after which time the Hot Wheels Wall Tracks Drift Rally Spinout Track Set was purchased as an add-on. As you can see, the kids are not very tall v(3 to 7yrs), so my daughter opted to mount the other add-on wall track to the side which defeated the purpose of mounting the two tracks to run into each other, but kept the original starter set mounted close enough to the ground so that all the kids could reach the top of both wall tracks and allows 2 separate tracks for the kids to use at the same time and saved remounting the original starter track. So, please be aware that some of the additional tracks that are sold to attach to the "Hot Wheels Wall Tracks Starter Set" may require the original Starter Set that is now mounted per it's original installation instructions to be taken off the wall and remounted using the original template, but placed higher on the wall than the original instructions included in the Starter Track indicated. Also, it helps to be aware that some of the add-on wall tracks will make access to the start of the track very high on the wall and could cause little guys to try to climb, or to support themselves while climbing onto step-up access by grabbing and pulling on some parts of the track that is mounted on the wall for additional support. If using some kind of step up or raised platform so the kids can reach the topmost part of the track, insure that it is stable, has handholds if needed, and is positioned so that it is unnecessary or not possible to grab at the track while they are stepping up to reach the top of the track. My daughter also tells me these tracks do need replacement COMMAND STRIPS once in a while, so it might be wise to some extra command strips when you install the track for tacking it back on the wall when it gets loose or comes off. THE KIDS DO LOVE AND USE THIS SET A LOT, just be aware that it takes some regular maintenance and prior planning to set it up and keep it going. Hope this review and the posted picture will help MOMS, DADS, GRANDPARENTS and KIDS to have a great time!

From "Ooh" to "Eh" Sep 03, 2011
By A. Faulhaber I just bought this for my son today. Although the age recommendation is 4, it is a fair enough height and complexity for my 2 year old. I expected great fun out of this toy, but have found some disappointments.
PROS: - It is simple to set up, though reference the CONS list. - There are lots of extras to add on to the starter pack, which comes in handy for birthdays and holidays! - There is room for multiple cars at the top, so you have a multi-car simultaneous ride. - The Command Strips, if used properly, are simple to use and do not ruin the wall surface (there are specific wall types that are exempt from this). The directions recommended waiting 1-hour before adding weight, applying the track, so we waited and it stays perfectly. These also allowed for simple take-down, but be sure to purchase extra medium strips for replacement. - The pieces that attach to the wall are separate from the track, so you can take the track down without having to get new strips and re-align them. - It is great that this attaches to the wall instead of taking up a 6 sq. ft. space on the floor. - Compared to other toys of this size and excitement, I found the price to be very reasonable. The expansion kits are also reasonably priced. - NO BATTERIES REQUIRED!!! Who doesn't love to see that?!
CONS: - The setup seems simple, but if it is a hair out of place, the cars will not travel at the proper speed to set-off the exciting events and can get stuck in the middle of the track. Our main issue is the speed bumps just after the start and the loop in the middle. - You have to make sure you keep the template in good working order if you want to be able to move the track with ease. In a house with kids, this isn't always the easiest task.
We have not had this toy long, so I will update my review as we learn more. For now, I think this toy is pretty neat.
