5Quick, Easy & Inexpensive  Nov 28, 2010

As simple as it gets. Plug it into a USB port and you're ready to start scanning. It has read every bar code I've tried so far. You should realize that the reader is a 'contact' type scanner so it needs to be held very close to the bar code to read it. As usual, there is no application software provided but there are several available for free download on CNET and other file sites.
