5Comparison to the MCX  Feb 23, 2010
By Donald Wile
I own the Blade MCX and am now happy to own the Tandem Rescue. It is definately easy to fly but not as easy as the MCX. The Tandem is much larger and has more mass, which makes a crash potentially more damaging. Also, compared to the MCX, canope removal is much much more difficult, making repairs more challenging. That being said, I love it! It flys wonderfully and looks great. I highly recommend this model particularly if you already own the MCX and are looking for something a little different. The charger is great, much better than the one that comes with the MCX.

5Superb Beginner Heli for Responsible Persons  Jan 25, 2011
By Tom F. Manting
My seven year old son and I have been flying air hogs since he was probably four years old and while we've been through a few of them he's become quite the little pilot.
So I bought him a UJ toys helicopter for Christmas from one of those kiosks in the mall for $50. It looked cool when the kiosk guy flew it in the mall, but the piece of junk wouldn't leave the ground on its maiden flight. What a mistake.
For my second try I bought "us" a Blade Tandem. Yes, it costs twice as much, but what a difference. The manual is over 30 pages long and written in clear English. If you read it you'll have a very good idea how to fly this aircraft without destroying it. The charger plugs into the wall so the battery investment is less; it hovers easilly and maneuvers better than any air hog. We've knocked it around a bit, but after most crashes, we just reset the battery and we're back in the air. The only repairs have been to reset the little linkage onto the swash plate after a crash.
I like the fact that extra batteries and repair parts are readily available and reasonably priced.
I would not call this a "toy". The rotors spin quite fast and someone could get hurt. Not only that, but it will NOT withstand the type of abuse a typical child can inflict. I can see how someone might be disappointed if they think this is something they can bounce off the walls or ceiling with total impunity Our flights are also lessons in responsibility and taking care of one's stuff.
(The slot cars? THOSE we beat the heck out of!)

5Fun and Different Heli!  Jan 06, 2010
By Russell S. Sobel
I own a Blade MCX, MCX S300, and an MSR in addition to the Tandem Rescue. This one is easy to fly, but it's not as easy as the MCX or MCX S300 (but it is easier than the MSR). It's good to have some experience on one of the MCXs first to make flying this one easier. It's different and fun, a nice change from the others for me, and I highly recommend it.

5Incredibly durable, well engineered, and endless enjoyment!  Feb 28, 2010
By Richard P. Bailey
I own most of the E-Flite helicopters, from the little mCX, up to the 400. I have flown RC for over 50 years, mostly fixed wing balsa kits. I was a Boeing 747-400 pilot for many years, and have flown a variety of aircraft, and a little Bell 206 time. Having said that, I can tell you that I get more pleasure flying the extremely well built, amazingly stable, little helis from E-Flite.

You get the idea by now I'm sure -- I highly recommend this product and all the other models in the E-Flite line.

4First Hobby grade heli  Feb 24, 2011
By Mike
Having received 4 different "toy" helicopters for Christmas, each of which flew with varying degrees of success, I decided I wanted to step up to a 4 channel heli. After a ton of research, I settled on the Blade mCX Tandem. It arrived 4 days ago, and I've flown it about 10 times now. It is VERY different then the 2 channel heli's and is taking me some time to learn how to control it. That said, it's not so difficult that I'm discouraged, rather I do seem to be getting better each time. I've had a few minor mishaps, no bad crashes, and so far nothings broken, so I'd rate it as pretty durable so far. I think I made the right decision to buy this. It's challenging but not stupid-hard, it's not so fragile that anything broke on the most minor crash and it's fun.
