I knew I was taking a risk at buying this for the audio quality as the priced seemed too good to be true. It is a slick idea, but the audio is junk in my 2011 Subaru Outback. There is so much static and noise coming out of my Nano that I had to turn it off after 2 songs. The sound was also coming out the speakers on one side of the car only so I had to fiddle with the connection to make it work. If you run your fingers along the length of the cord, it also restricts and distorts the sound as well. I tested a different AUX cable I purchased for my wife from WallyWorld and it sounds great in my car going to get that one instead. I won't bother to return this one as I mainly bought it so it would charge and it is simply not worth my time and money to return. I'll keep it for the recharge purpose only. Final words, Buyer Beware - Look Elsewhere.

I do not typically write reviews but I remember when I bought the item the 1 stars were a bit disconcerting. This cable is of great quality both in aesthetics and audio quality. I am using it to connect to the stock stereo in a BMW X3 and it rivals the sound quality of installing an Ipod kit at a fraction of the cost. The only feature I feel I am giving up is the ability to switch songs via stereo/steering controls. Most of the people who are complaining probably have low quality stereo systems to start with so it is unfair to bash on the product. The product provides exactly what is claimed and at a great price.

Cable works great to get a line out audio signal from my iPod Touch. It's longer than most sync cables (probably 4~5ft) and well made too. Nice heavy wires. Keep in mind though that with this plugged in, the iPod cuts the audio feed to the headphone jack so you can't use this to charge and listen through the headphone jack at the same time. But if you needed an line out, you probably won't need the headphone jack anyway. You can get a double ended mini stereo connector to convert the tip to a female plug and then plug your headphones into that.

This product worked as advertised until it broke. Looks decent and sounded ok, but the cable stopped charging my phone after only two days.
