i got the battery ok and it was well packaged and everything, and while it does work for 2-3 hours, the battery health dropped impressively in two days from 100% to 92% in just 5 charge/discharge cycles, needless to day, i returned the thing.
just as a note, i read a study that found that batteries made by the same company as manufactured the product (in this case apple) are the best ones to go with, because they work as advertised while batteries from third-parties tend to under perform, as happened in this case.

This battery failed after 3 weeks. I should have listened to the negative reviews. DONT BUY THIS ITEM from this vendor.

Battery had good life for this 15" MBPro--2-3 hours of active use, which is about the same as the original battery. It doesn't quite match up on the bottom as other reviews indicate, as it sticks out a mm or two, but this shouldn't be a problem as we don't slide around the MBPro. Very happy to have longer batter life again!

I have been using this replacement battery for 2 weeks. From my experience so far it has a decent battery life comparable to that of the official Apple Macbook Pro 15" replacement battery. It's capacity has degraded a bit, and didn't start as high as 5500 mAh (started around 5441) but it is still close. Specifically, the health is rated at 98% due to a capacity of 5391 mAh / 5500 expected mAh = .98.
The charge meter lights do work when I press the meter button (I've seen them go up and down as charge varied), unlike what some other reviewers said. So overall, this product seems as advertised and it's about half the price of the comparable Apple product. Unless the health of this battery degrades much faster over time, I'd say this is a good product and good deal.
The only drawback so far is aesthetics of the battery. It is not flush with the laptop, and sticks out about a mm, which is hardly noticable. Also the paint job, doesn't exactly match the silver of the Macbook. For half the price, this is acceptable to me.
