Quality Pillowcases Jun 19, 2010
By B. Widmer We needed pillowcases for a tie-dying craft. These were the cheapest I could find and I was surprised to realize they were also great quality (higher thread count than the other cheap ones I found). They are also 100% cotton. When I received them, I was pleasantly surprised as they were thick and soft too! They dyed beautifully and were even less expensive than any other pillowcases I found. Great purchase!

perfect for my needs Dec 30, 2010
By cottononly REVIEW PART ONE: These pillow cases are perfect for my needs. I was surprised at their generous size and they are so soft and white after washing the initial stiffness out. I have a skin condition and can only lay on soft cotton. I line my side of the bed with these and avoid having to change the sheets every day. These pillow cases softened up after a few washings. As for other reviewer's complaints about wrinkles--Hey, that's what cotton does---you can minimize it by using dryer balls, drying a full load, and removing promptly. I just take them out of the dryer and smooth them with my hands as I fold them on the dining table. They are fine, no need to iron if you treat them this way. I'm going to order 20 more!****** REVIEW PART TWO: okay, It's fast forward, and I ordered another set. Yuck! they are narrower, made differently (a fold instead of one side seam), crooked, stiff, wrinkly, and only 19 in my order. They made that shortage of one pillowcase right and couldn't have been nicer. But I learned these are made in India and QED doesn't open the packets to inspect or re-count. I even had a crushed beetle sewn up inside one of them! All I can say is "POT LUCK".

Big Disappointment! Dec 02, 2010
By Joper Wife bought these for a craft project. The price was right, but that is about it. Like another review said, after washing be ready to do alot of ironing. There was much more ironing involved than normal. There were five pillowcases that were sewn crooked, one had a rip in it, and two had lines due to missing material. If quality is not an issue, then it's a bargain. I would not recommend.

Not made by Hilden and probably not Egyptian Cotton Mar 01, 2011

I recently stayed at a hotel with amazingly soft sheets, so I checked the tag on their pillowcases - the brand was Hilden. Not being able to find Hilden sheets anywhere (except for in bulk), I opted to buy these pillowcases. I figured I may not be able to have a whole bed made of luxurious Hilden sheets, but at least I could lay my head on one.
When I received the pillowcases, I thought they seemed very thin. I looked at the tags and found a pretty generic "100% Cotton, Queen Pillowcase, Made in India." No mention of Hilden. I doublechecked the description on Amazon to ensure I wasn't mistaken. It reads, "cotton percale pillowcases made for Hilden America, a provider of luxury linen to 4 and 5 star hotels." These were definitely not made BY Hilden America, and I doubt they were made FOR Hilden America, either. (Note: the header at the top of the page also notes that the sheets are "by Hilden America.")
Notice also, that the label I mentioned doesn't specify "100% Egyptian Cotton." After further research, I found that this is illegal. According to the FTC's "Textile Act and Rules" on their consumer protection website:
"If your ad uses the name of a particular type of cotton, a cotton trademark, or other term implying the presence of a type of cotton, the cotton name, trademark, or other term should also be included on the product's content label."
Also, as other reviewers have noted, these pillowcases are surprisingly wrinkly, even fresh from the dryer. If that bothers you, then be prepared to iron them.
These were pretty much a waste of money for me.

white pillow cases Jan 22, 2011
By Bee These pillow cases were definitely a good deal and a good quality for the price. I thought I was buying standard size, and they were actually queen but easy enough to alter so I did not return them. We use them to embroider on, so needed a good quality product.
